I once stayed in a pensione on the island of Karpathos in Greece during two straight days of rain. When the sun finally appeared, I opened my door to see three of the local cats perched on a bench that had stayed dry due to an overhanging roof.
While cautiously eyeing me, they allowed this group portrait before deciding to explore the village.
