

Endless rows of fragrant lavender plants are beautiful in their own right, and the scent can be intoxicating. But to create an interesting photograph, I find it necessary to pair the lavender with another subject: an old abbey, a farmhouse, or another scenic element.
This solitary tree gave me just the feeling I was looking for: a focal point at the end of converging rows of color.
