

The difficult thing about photographing fields of sunflowers is finding something to break up the monotony of the endless identical rows.
I first noticed clouds forming a fantastic triangular shape above this field of flowers in the south of France. I knew I still needed a focal point to draw the eye into the image, so I drove until I found the farm building to visually anchor the scene.
The final result provides a pleasing balance between the sunflowers carpeting the foreground, wispy clouds pointing downward, and an ancient stone barn joining the two planes.
